2nd Annual RBFCU McKinney Star-Spangled Salsa Festival Slated for July 4th at Chestnut Square
June 20, 2019, McKinney, TX – On July 4, 2019, the second annual RBFCU McKinney Star-Spangled Salsa Festival presented by Bernard’s Gourmet Foods will take place at Chestnut Square Heritage Village in McKinney, Texas. This spicy food festival and contest immediately follows the Red, White and BOOM hometown parade in historic downtown McKinney at 11 a.m. and continues until 3 p.m. This family-friendly event is funded in part by McKinney Community Development Corporation and McKinney Convention and Visitors Bureau and benefits Community Garden Kitchen of Collin County.
Festival guests may expect t0:
- Compete in the Beat The Heat Hot sauce and salsa competition for individuals, spicy food professionals, and restaurants. To enter contest see salsafestmckinney.com
- Enjoy Live entertainment featuring Latin guitarist, James Gabriano, singer, Alex Kennedy, street dancing with Salsa Dallas and culinary demonstrations led by industry pros
- Shop and Dine at the Salsa Shop and Market Cocina featuring Award-Winning GOTEXAN spicy food vendors, restaurants and chefs
- Play with the kids in the Holy Family School Family Fun Kid Zone
Some of the community’s favorite chefs, restaurants and commercial salsa professionals will in attendance providing an amazing array of culinary treats to enjoy and take home.
Tickets for the event are $10 per person with children 12 and under free. Proceeds from this spicy food festival including festival related donations from the public will benefit the Community Garden Kitchen of Collin County.
The RBFCU McKinney Star-Spangled Salsa Fest Committee is comprised of community members with a heart for service and a mind to nourish others. This committee has been gathered together by Bernard’s Gourmet Foods to help Community Garden Kitchen build its facility at Holy Family School. Once built, the Community Garden Kitchen facility will be “a center of hope and compassion, ensuring that no one in our community suffers the fear and distress of food insecurity (communitygardenkitchen.org).”
This event is partially funded by the McKinney Community Development Corporation and the McKinney Convention and Visitors Bureau.
